Comtec Group International Ltd – the UK’s leading supplier of telecoms, datacoms and AV products – has announced the opening of its latest overseas office in Muscat, Oman.
Comtec, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, is already well-established in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region having been a supplier to telcos such as Etisalat, Ooredoo (formerly known as Qtel) and Batelco for over 28 years and having had offices in Qatar and UAE for nearly 10 years.
“Our new Oman operation actually came about at the request of Ooredoo,” explained Comtec’s Executive Chairman, John Archer. “We’ve been a close partner of Ooredoo in Qatar for nearly 3 decades and over the last 5 years have been their exclusive supply chain management services provider on their FTTH rollout – the fastest such rollout in the world. Now that they are launching a superfast fibre network in Oman we were delighted to be involved with this too”.
Comtec will hold stock in Oman and, given its unique product and service proposition which includes exclusive distribution of the world’s leading brands of structured cabling, fibre optics, splicing and testing equipment, expects to establish itself as the leading supplier of such products in the Sultanate just as it has done in Qatar.
